SINGING IN DEATH

A happy funeral for Paillasse the clown.

In this Calenture, audience members are invited to witness Paillasse’s funeral. In a coffin that his friends carry to a grave, Paillasse the clown is happy. He sings, dances and throws confetti. The coffin is closed, laid at the bottom of the pit, and covered with earth. Still, we can hear Paillasse’s joyous singing. Eventually, he falls asleep… We wish with this Calenture to question our relationship to death. What matters is to make as successful an exit as possible…
